Kristen Kjellman led two other Wildcats, Meridith Frank and Sarah Albrecht with three goals each and Morgan Lathrop recorded 13 saves in goal to lead No. 1 Northwestern past a stingy Vanderbilt Commodore (6-9, 2-3) squad 14-9 today in the regular-season finale. Lindsey Munday also scored once and provided 3 assists, Casey Donohoe scored her first collegiate goal too.
The win gives the outright ALC title to the Wildcats (16-1, 5-0) who have finished undefeated in the conference for the second straight year. NU is now 50-2 in ALC regular season play since joining the conference, and has an 18 game home winning streak.
Now it a waiting game, to see just where NU is seeded by the NCAA Selection Committee. NU should expect to host the initial rounds of the tournament, which will wind up in Boston for the finals this year. That seeding will be announced Monday night, May 8th at 7 p.m. CT on CSTV.
