Rouse Waiting On Text Message

Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy linebacker, Kevin Rouse, is one of the most sought after prospects in the Midwest. Rouse has narrowed his favorites down to six or seven schools but Kevin says that three schools are at the top of his wish list. Rouse is making some unofficial visits this weekend and could make a verbal commitment before the start of his senior season.

"I'm going to visit North Carolina State, Boston College and Pittsburgh within a week," Kevin Rouse told Purple Reign.

"I have family in North Carolina so my dad and I will fly down there and we'll check out N.C. State while we're down there. I'm also going to check out Pitt and B.C. I might go to West Virginia as well.

"I visited Iowa a couple of days ago and my decision is getting tougher every day. I really left Iowa liking them a lot.

"Wisconsin and Northwestern are also at the top of my list. Coach (Pat) Fitzgerald is a great guy and I'm happy that he was named head coach at Northwestern but that could also be a negative.

"Coach Fitz would've been my position coach and now that he's the head coach I wouldn't be spending as much time with him as I normally would. Coach Fitz told me that he'll be sending me a text message when he hires a linebacker coach.

"I've been to Wisconsin a few different times. They have great coaches and I really liked the speed of linebackers and how active they were.

"I think I can make my decision after these trips I have coming up. We'll wait and see how things go."

All favorites have offered Rouse except for West Virginia. Rouse had 90 tackles and 25 tackles for loss in 2005. Rouse is a four-star prospect, ranked the #25 linebacker in the country according to Scout.com
