Texas CB plans two visits

One of Northwestern's needs is at Cornerback. With a top performer on the left, and an up and coming player on the right, Coach Jerry Brown's D-Backs could use help down the road. Here's a nifty prospect from Texas, who likes NU, but have the Wildcats offered?

One of the top performers at the Scout.com combine in Waco was cornerback Justin Chatman of Horn High in Mesquite, Texas.
He's picked up some impressive offers and could be close to more.

"I have offers from Minnesota, Rice, SMU, UTEP and most recently Akron," Chatman said. "I think Wisconsin is right on the verge of offering too. The coach recruiting me said he wants to offer, he just has to get it approved by the head coach."

As a junior Chatman made 76 tackles, broke up six passes, forced two fumbles, had two fumble recoveris and two sacks. He earned second team all-district honors.

"Right now my favorites would be UTEP, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Ohio State," Chatman said. "I have already set two official visits with UTEP and Minnesota. I don't have the exact date yet, but they are supposed to call me on September 1 and talk about it."

The 5-foot-11, 169-pound Chatman ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and a 4.22 second shuttle time at the Scout.com combine.

"I am planning on taking my visits before I commit or anything," Chatman said. "I do plan on narrowing it down to five schools before the season starts though."
