Ohio CB Names Favorites

Ohio's Brian Jones visited Evanston in the spring and now he's named his early favorites headed into the 2002 season. Did Northwestern make the cut?

"I don't have a favorite right now," said cornerback Brian Jones. "I like Ohio State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Northwestern and Pittsburgh.

"I don't have any offers yet. I'm being recruited as a cornerback but I probably prefer playing free safety."

Jones, a 6-foot, 183-pounder, from Avon Lake, Ohio is considered one of the best cover corners in the Midwest.

Jones has 4.38 speed in the 40-yard dash, he had five interceptions as a junior and was named all-district.

2002 will be Jones' third year as a varsity starter. He plays both safety and cornerback. Brian camped at Pitt this summer.

Jones' former teammate at Avon Lake, Mike D'Andrea was the nations #1 ranked linebacker a year ago and is now a freshman at Ohio State.

Brian Jones carries 3.8 GPA in the classroom and he scored 20 on his ACT.
