All-American Candidate Visits Northwestern

Highly touted Travis Thomas was in Evanston this past weekend on an official visit. Thomas talks about his visit as well as his future plans.

"Northwestern was a nice place but it just wasn't for me," said running back Travis Thomas.

"They're down right now but Northwestern has a good coach staff and I'm sure they'll turn it around.

"The campus atmosphere just didn't do it for me. Northwestern is a great academic institution but it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of social life there.

"I'm going to Iowa next weekend. I've already been to Notre Dame and Purdue. Boston College (12-6) will be last visit.

"Notre Dame is still my leader. Iowa is right there and I haven't ruled out Purdue yet either."

Thomas, 6-foot-1, 200-pounder, from Washington, Pennsylvania is a three-year varsity starter that rushed for 1,110 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2002.
