Its the Flames by 17 - UIC 70 - NU 53

Freshman Guard Evan Seacat dropped in 16, and Forward Jimmy Maley had 15, but Cedrick Banks and the Flames were just too much for the Wildcats Thursday night...

The percentages tell the tale:
UIC 28-47 [.596] from the floor
Northwestern 15-45 [.333]

The Cats started to make a run with 8 minutes, but UIC made a few quick baskets to keep the game out of reach.

High scorer for UIC was Cedrick Banks - 12-18, 5-8 from 3 and 2 FT for 31 points.

The Wildcats were led by Evan Seacat 4-8, 3-7 from 3 with 5 FTs. TJ Parker shot 5-10 and 3-5 from 3 with 2 FTs. They were named the co-MVPs by WGN.

In his postgame interview, NU Coach Bill Carmody said that the Cats had just been outplayed, and that the veterans have to step up when the Cats play a team that is as athletic as UIC. He also noted that NU had trouble rebounding because UIC seemed to make all their first half shots.

Greg's story should be up in the morning, next is Fordam, at Welsh-Ryan Sunday at 1 PM CST.
