Another Commit for the Wildcats

Cat fans were wondering about the future of the Offensive Line with the graduation of Austin King and Jeff Roehl and the small number of O-Line recruits over the past 2 years.
Some of your fears should eased after today...

Fred McConnell>/b>, a 6-foot-4, 325-pound, offensive lineman from Southfield (MI) Lathrup gave Randy Walker and Northwestern University his verbal commitment this week.

McConnell is being recruited as an offensive tackle, but also had played some D-Linethis year for Lathrup.

He joins a couple of Centers, Trevor Rees [6-2 269] and Austin Matthews [6-6 275], on the NU list of commits. Two more commits, David Ngene [6-4 255] and Warren Anderson [6-3 235] have played up front, but have been recruited as defensive ends.

We'll be projecting the 2003 O-Line in a few days, but McConnell is a welcome addition to Rees and Matthews on the commit list.
