"I'm going to Northwestern and I'm very excited," said wide receiver Tonjua Jones.
"I visited last weekend and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to attend a great academic school and play football in the Big Ten.
"My visit went great. Coach (Randy) Walker is a straight forward type of guy and I like that.
"It just came down to Northwestern vs. The Ivy League schools. The Ivy League has great academics but they can't offer scholarships and they don't play in a major conference.
"I'm getting the best of both worlds at Northwestern."
Jones, a 6-foot-3, 180-pounder, from Southfield (MI) Lathrup was a three-year varsity starter on both sides of the ball.
Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Indiana and some Ivy League schools were also interested in Jones' services.
