RB Visits Northwestern

Florida State transfer Thomas Clayton visited Northwestern this past weekend. Did the 'Cats impress Clayton enough to get his verbal commitment?

"I had a good visit," Clayton said. "I really liked the campus and the coaching staff at Northwestern.

"Northwestern is the team to beat but I'm going to take a few more visits.

"I'm going to Vanderbilt this coming weekend and Michigan State called me this week, so I'm going to check that out as well.

"I should know something in a couple of weeks."

The 6-foot, 200-pounder, from Alexandria (Va.) Mt. Vernon was released from his Florida State scholarship last month.

Clayton was one of the top running back prospects in the nation a year ago.
