Bryant commits to Northwestern

It was a good day for Northwestern athletics. The hoops team went nuts with 20 three-pointers in a 25-point rout, and the football team nabbed yet another notable commitment: C.J. Bryant, an Ohio native with numerous offers, committed on the heels of his weekend visit. Inside, the specs on Bryant, as well as what other weekend visitors could commit next.

C.J. Bryant, a corner back from Gahanna, Ohio, committed to Northwestern Sunday. Bryant, 6-foot and 175 pounds, also had offers from Indiana, Air Force, Ohio, Marshall and a few others.

Bryant, who is rated by Scout as a two-star prospect (he is a three-star prospect elsewhere), becomes the second defensive back to commit recently following the Nov. 24 commitment of Philadelphia native Ibraheim Campbell, a three-star recruit himself.

Daniel Jones, a two-star DB from Tallahassee, Fla., committed in early November, giving NU a solid haul of defensive backs for the 2010 class.

On the other side of the ball, three-star receiver Austin Hill and three-star running back Adonis Smith were also reportedly in Evanston this weekend. So the 2010 haul could get better, and maybe really soon.
