One of the top prospects in the state of Ohio is defensive end Greg McMullen of Akron (Ohio) Hoban High School. The Irish have not offered at this time but are taking a hard look at the talented prospect.

Make no mistake, Ohio is loaded at the defensive end position for the Class of 2012. Greg McMullen of Akron (Ohio) Hoban High School may be the player college programs from across the country chose to be the best out of all of them.

On film, McMullen uses his great physical size at 6-foot-5, 260-pounds to wreck havoc on offenses and is able to shed blockers and run sideline to sideline to make plays. The other area that McMullen does a great job in is getting his hands up to block passes without getting out of position to make plays that breakdown and come his way.

McMullen shows the ability to play on the edge while also being big enough to move down and place his hand on the ground. He's a major talent and one the Irish will be looking at hard as they scourer the country looking for the players capable of taking them to a national championship.

At this time, McMullen has offers from Michigan State, Nebraska and Ohio State with many more on the way.

Here are highlights from McMullen's sophomore season.
