Cody Quinn Talks About ND

Ohio defensive back Cody Quinn first hit the pages of Irish Eyes in August when we showed you his highlights. Now Quinn talks about his visit to Notre Dame.

For Cody Quinn of Middletown (Ohio) High School the 2010 season has been a good one. Not only is Quinn playing on a 5-0 team, he is starting to hear from several college. Last Saturday, Quinn was a visitor at Notre Dame as the Irish start the recruiting process for the 5-foot-11, 165-pound defensive back.

"Things are going good," Quinn told Irish Eyes. "We're off to a 5-0 start and I feel I'm having a pretty good season."

Quinn, who received his first verbal scholarship offer from Cincinnati, has seen interest increase over the past couple of months, one of the schools showing interest is Notre Dame. How was his visit to campus?

"I went up for the Stanford game and it was really nice. I had never been to a college game before so it was very exciting."

With Notre Dame Coach Tim Hinton heading Quinn's recruiting, things are getting off to a solid start.

"Coach Hinton said he really liked the film they saw of me from last season and wanted to get film from this season so they could take a hard look at me."

A solid student with a 3.3 GPA, Quinn knows it is very early in the recruiting process to get too excited. However, he does have a few schools he has interest in learning more about.

"I'm hearing from Penn State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Cincinnati (offer). I'm hoping to get a chance to go to a game at Penn State. I'm also looking to visit Kentucky and my dad wants me to go up to a game at Michigan."

For Quinn a lot of the early interest comes from his footwork and overall speed. Nevertheless, he knows there is still work to do.

"I feel I need to continue working on playing the ball."

Irish Eyes will continue to follow Cody Quinn in the coming months.
