Irish Looking at Golson

Everett Golson (5-foot-11, 170-pounds) is currently committed to North Carolina, but they have two quarterbacks in their recruiting class and Notre Dame none. While Notre Dame isn't just going to grab a body to fill a need, they are showing interest in Golson.

"I talked to coach Molnar last week sometime," he said." He called and we talked a little bit. It was real brief, and there wasn't much detail.

"They haven't offered me yet, but talking about it. I'm supposed to be taking an official visit November 13, but I'm not sure."

Golson hasn't been on the Notre Dame campus as of yet, but he does know a little about the Irish program and the university.

"I feel like Notre Dame has a good coach up there and their system fits me really well," he said. "They run the spread offense and it's similar to what we do in high school. I feel like it would be easy for me to adapt to, which is a big step in me succeeding.

"I know they're a really good academic school. They have a good football team. They're on TV every week and they're basically the premiere football team in the country."

"I'm still committed to North Carolina, but you never know what's going to happen," he said. "It's good to have that ‘Plan B'. I think I'll excel in any situation that I'm put in. But for me, I've always like North Carolina and right now, I'm fully committed to Carolina."
