Huggins Will be a Guest at Yankee Stadium

Although this weekend's game won't be played in South Bend, Notre Dame is allowed to host recruits for unofficial visits. Savon Huggins from St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) is one of Notre Dame's top targets for the 2011 class and he will be at Yankee Stadium to watch the Irish take on Army.

Savon Huggins took an official visit to Notre Dame earlier in the year, and according to his dad, Savon will be at Yankee Stadium this weekend to get another look at the Irish.

"We're planning on coming over," Wendell Huggins said. "We just talked to coach Diaco yesterday morning. Savon likes the school and it's one of his top schools still.

"We had a game last weekend, so we didn't get to see their game against Utah, but we heard. We're keeping tabs."

Besides Notre Dame, Savon still has Rutgers, North Carolina, Pitt and Florida still under consideration.

"Nothing else is new," Wendell said. "He hasn't done anything with recruiting, because he's in playoffs right now. He's not focused on anything but the team. He hasn't even talked to too many coaches.

"I told him not to worry about (recruiting). Just do what you have to do and focus on the game tomorrow."

The game Savon's dad is referring to is the state semifinal showdown against powerhouse Don Bosco.

"We're playing at their house," he said. "When all is said and done, it would be great to beat them at their place. Every year we've made it to the playoffs and we've come out on the short end of the stick against them.

"I've got to be confident that we're going to win. I've got my son running the rock for them. No one has stopped him all season, and hopefully they aren't going to be any different."
