With his official visit set for Notre Dame this weekend, Hardy spoke with Irish Eyes about what should be an exciting weekend.
"I cannot wait! I cannot wait! I am so excited about this weekend and my visit to Notre Dame."
As with most official visits, Eilar will not be alone.
"My mom, dad, and sister are all going with me. We are scheduled to leave on Friday morning. Notre Dame was to have their banquet this weekend; however, it has been postponed. Therefore, I am not sure what we'll be doing. Coach (Tim) Hinton is to visit this week and I'm sure he will have more details about the visit."
One of the things exciting to Eilar is the other Notre Dame pledges scheduled to be on their official visits as well.
Eilar has been wearing his Notre Dame colors proudly the last few weeks.
"That was big on Saturday night. I really feel that is going to help out the program. Finishing out strong with a win over USC is big. It has been really good to see the defense come together the past few weeks. Especially considering I will soon be part of it."
With his high school football career behind him, Eilar has taken stock of the past four years.
"My senior year was great. It went the way I thought it would be except we did not make the state championship game. You look back at all the hard work and see that it paid off. Our final game was against a team we did not match up very well with. We had our chances to win the game a couple of times; however, we just did not get it done."
With football over Eilar is spending some time getting on the mend before getting back to work.
"Right now I'm working on getting all my school work done and working on getting my grades even better than they are. I have been working on getting all my paperwork into Notre Dame and letting my body get healthy. I was kind of banged up, but when I get back from my official visit, I will be hitting the weight room again getting ready for Notre Dame."
Irish Eyes will talk with Eilar following his official visit this weekend.
