Conor Hanratty and New Canaan (10-1) play Hand (10-1) on Saturday in a Class L semifinal state play-off game. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. at West Haven High School.
Matt Hegarty and Aztec (12-0) play Artesia (8-4) on Saturday in the Class AAAA Arizona state championship game. The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. at the Bulldog Bowl in Artesia. This is Aztec's second appearance in the state championship in three years.
George and Josh Atkinson and Granada (8-4) play at De La Salle (11-0) in a CIF North Coast Section second round playoff game. Granada is looking to avenge a regular season 52-7 loss to De La Salle. In last weekend's game against College Park, George scored three touchdowns on 172 yards rushing and 157 yards receiving.
Cam McDaniel and Coppell (13-0) face Trinity (13-0) Friday night in a 5A Division I quarterfinal game at Dragon Stadium in Southlake, Texas. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Trinity is the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.
Everett Golson and Myrtle Beach (13-1) face South Pointe (13-1) Saturday night at the University of Scout Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium in the 3A South Carolina state championship game. The game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. This is the third consecutive trip to the championship game, winning in 2008 and losing last season. South Pointe defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is the No. 1 ranked prospect in the country.
