Junior Jesse Curry will take his place in the Fighting Irish offense next season with the absence of Teague. Saturday, Curry showed he will look to add his touch from the running back position next season with a solid performance as he rushed for 113 yards on ten carries and a touchdown.
While that would be exciting enough, the fact Curry made 6.5 tackles (1 sack, 2 tackles for loss) and a pass break-up, makes him a dual threat prospect. Trevor Smith will look to continue his progress from the linebacker position. While Smith may only stand 5-foot-9, 192-pounds, he showed Saturday that he is a player to watch with his overall athletic ability. Also, look for Smith to get some reps at running back next season as he was given three carries for thirteen yards to go with his 1.5 tackles.
Sophomore Tramain Thigpen fits the same mold of Curry and Smith as a running back / linebacker prospect. On Saturday, Thigpen showed his ability at linebacker and running back as he turned in a solid performance on defense with four tackles and a pass break-up to join his offensive stats (9 carries, 72 yards) during Ursuline's championship win.

Irish Eyes will continue to follow these future prospects and learn about any interest Notre Dame may show in them.
