Irish Stop for 2012 Receiver

With one offer under his belt and many programs showing interest, Monty Madaris is looking forward to learning more about Notre Dame. We spoke with the 2012 wide receiver about a recent visit by the Irish to his school.

Monty Madaris fits the profile of the type of wide receiver Brian Kelly likes in his offense. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Madaris is physical and has the ability to out battle defensive backs for the ball in the air will also being able to use his speed to get separation. Notre Dame recently stopped by Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller High School to make sure the wide receiver knew there was interest.

"Coach (Tim)Hinton stopped by my school a few weeks ago," Madaris told Irish Eyes. "He left me a questioner and made it known that I should make a trip or two up to Notre Dame."

The Irish are not the only programs taking hard looks at Madaris.

"Alabama, Michigan State, and Ohio State are a few of the programs showing interest. Cincinnati has already offered me a scholarship."

Madaris posted solid numbers during his junior season with 48 receptions for 674 yards and 6 touchdowns.

IrishEyes.com will continue to follow Madaris in the coming months.
