Ernie Jackson, a 6-foot-3, 188-pound, athlete from Beverly Hills (MI) Detroit Country Day will be a prospect to watch in 2003.
Jackson will be a three-year varsity starter. He threw for 1,800 yards and 17 touchdowns as junior and was named all-state by the Detroit Free-Press.
"Northwestern has offered me a scholarship," Jackson said. "Notre Dame, Northwestern, West Virginia, Kentucky and Illinois are the schools sending me hand-written letters.
"My favorites right now are Northwestern, Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Michigan and Indiana."
What will Jackson be looking for in a school?
"A good football team and a good education. I'm looking for a school that's going to let me play quarterback. I want to compete as a freshman and play as soon as possible."
Ernie Jackson also letters in basketball and track. He has been to Northwestern and Central Michigan on unofficial visits.
