Koyack Impressed Coaches

Notre Dame verbal pledge Ben Koyack is opening the eyes of those who are coaching him in Wednesday's Under Armour Game. Irish Eyes has the latest on the future Fighting Irish tight end.

With official word Notre Dame, junior tight end Kyle Rudolph was forgoing his senior year. The importance of Ben Koyack to the Irish recruiting class has taken a major step forward.

Koyack, who will be on television tonight (Wednesday) during the Under Armour All-American Game, has opened some eyes during the past few days in Florida. One of those is Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne head coach Jay Minton who is coaching the tight ends.

"Ben is really good." Minton told Irish Eyes. "He is a great blocker and has great hands. Notre Dame is getting a really good one."

Minton, who has coached his share of top players during his coaching career in Florida and Ohio, does not often give out such high praise. For him to issue that kind of statement means he expects big things out of the future Notre Dame tight end.
