Savon Huggins has taken official visits to Notre Dame, North Carolina and Auburn. According to his father Wendell Huggins, Savon has the Irish, Rutgers, and North Carolina as his favorites.
"They're (Notre Dame) in the top three," Wendell said. "Coach Hinton was here Friday night and we talked to him a good bit. Then coach Diaco is going to be here sometime on Friday.
"There's been a lot of running around. He just got back on Wednesday (from Orlando). He had Michigan State and Notre Dame in on Friday. Rutgers was here on Saturday.
"We're trying to get all this stuff in and then head back out this weekend," he said. "We want to make sure we wrap this all up and then he can make his verbal."
Savon will take an official visit this weekend to Michigan State. He will take an official visit to Rutgers on January 21 and then make his announcement on January 28.
"Right now he's just going over everything to make sure that he's where he wants to be when he makes his selection," Mr. Huggins explained. "He's going over what he likes about each school and writing those things down, so he can make his decision when that day comes."
Many people believe Savon already has his mind set on attending Rutgers. According to Wendell, any discussion that Savon has his mind made up at this time is a bit premature.
"You can't stop people from speculating," he said. "We've been hearing a lot of that, but we don't pay any attention to that. We just take it with a grain of salt and keep moving."
