Towles Looking to Visit

2012 quarterback prospect Patrick Towles talks about his first offer, camps, and his contact with Notre Dame.

The one position Brian Kelly reviews harder than any other is quarterback. The main source for his team's success or failure, Kelly knows he must have the right quarterback in his offensive system for Notre Dame to reach the level of success expected.

For this reason, there are several early names getting attention from Notre Dame at the position. One such player is Patrick Towles from Fort Thomas (Kentucky) Highlands High School.

Irish Eyes caught up with Towles to get the latest news on his recruiting.

"I picked up my first offer from Louisville," Towles told Irish Eyes. "I've not talked with the coaches from Notre Dame the past couple of weeks, but they have invited me to their Junior Day along with Kentucky, Georgia, Cincinnati, and Louisville."

With basketball more on his mind than football, talk of summer camps or combines are on the back burner. Nevertheless, Towles knows he many need to attend a few to earn offers.

"I'm not sure what camps I will be going to yet, but I know I will try to attend as many as possible. I do not want to treat them as a visit, but chances to show what I can do while learning more about the coaches and school."

As for basketball, the season has not been an easy one for Towles team.

"We have a game tomorrow and we are fighting some injuries as our 6-foot-7 guy is out. We are about .500 and beat up, but we will get better as the season goes along."

Will Towles show Brian Kelly and Charley Molnar the skill set they desire from the quarterback position?

Time will tell us if Patrick Towles is the right fit for the Irish and Irish Eyes will continue to track the developments of this story. Top Stories
