Pressure Turns To Hounshell

With Notre Dame earning a verbal pledge from Ishaq Williams and odds high that Aaron Lynch could be a pledge by the end of the weekend, Chase Hounshell knows the clock is ticking. Sunday and Monday are set to be the final days before he makes a college choice.

The pressure is on Chase Hounshell of Mentor (Ohio) Lake Catholic. With Florida and Notre Dame being the final two schools for consideration, Hounshell will have to soon make up his mind and pledge to a school. Both programs look to make that final push to get the 6-foot-5, 250-pound, offensive / defensive lineman to commit.

"Florida is coming to my home on Sunday," Hounshell told Irish Eyes by text. "Coach Muschamp and Coach Verducci are set to visit me then."

The Gators will not have the last visit, as Notre Dame will follow on Monday.

"Notre Dame is sending Coach Diaco and Elston to see me on Monday."

Hounshell knows scholarships at Notre Dame are getting thin with Friday's news of Ishaq Williams giving his pledge. He also feels the Irish are about to get another pledge.

"I'm thinking Aaron Lynch is committing tomorrow."

If Lynch gives his pledge this weekend, the Irish will be down to their final couple of spots in the class putting Chase in the position to make the call to Florida or Notre Dame very soon.

Irish Eyes will continue to keep in contact with Chase as things develop.
