Irish Keeping Eye On Harris

With too many offers to list, Gary Harris looked to show why so many programs are after him as his Hamilton Southeastern team takes part in Flying To The Hoop. Irish Eyes caught up with Harris after his teams victory and has a few photos from game action.

One of the hottest basketball prospects from the Midwest is Hamilton (IN) Southeastern guard Gary Harris. With Notre Dame as one of his top offers, Irish Eyes caught Harris in action on Saturday during his team's 71-70 victory.

Harris, who scored a game high 27 points on the day, found Taft (Cincinnati, Ohio) to have some top athletes including two Notre Dame football prospects in Adolphus Washington and Dwayne Stanford.

The silky smooth Harris has done some serious work since last season, as he looks stronger and thicker. Has this helped his game?

"It is helping me a lot more as I feel like I am a stronger player. I can play longer and I can finish strong at the rack. It has made me a better player."

With several schools having already offered, Harris seems open to everyone, but named the following schools when asked.

"Michigan State, IU, Illinois, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Xavier are a few schools."

As for when Harris is looking to make a commitment, he stressed the lack of a timeline or a favorite.

"I have no favorites, I just want to find a school that fits me best. I am just going to try and get out for some visits during the season. There is no certain timetable as I'm just trying to get out there and just find the right fit for me." National Recruiting Analyst Brian Snow said the following about Harris after his performance.

"It was a spectacular day for Harris. The 6-foot-4 wing had his entire game working. He was being aggressive, using his freakish athleticism, and also knocking in jumpers to the tune of 26 points. Also Harris rebounded quite well, and finished the game off with a sickening posterization of a Taft defender that in essence sealed the win. Quite simply Taft is a team loaded with big time athletes and had absolutely no answer for what Harris was able to do."

Here are some action shots of Harris in action.
