Carlisle Closes Door

Notre Dame is still trying to add another running back to their recruiting class as signing day nears. Amir Carlisle from The Kings Academy (Sunnyvale, Calif.) was one of their primary targets over the past couple months until he recently committed to USC.

Although Amir Carlisle (5-foot-11.5, 19-pounds) had committed to USC a couple weeks ago, Notre Dame never stopped trying to lure the standout running back to South Bend. There were rumblings circulating that the Irish had recently visited Carlisle and that they were still in contact with Amir and his family.

IrishEyes spoke with Duane Carlisle on Thursday night to see if Amir had any intention of meeting or speaking with the Notre Dame coaching staff in the future.

"No," Mr. Carlisle responded. "Amir is committed to going to USC."

With Amir no longer an option, the lone running back prospect still considering Notre Dame is Savon Huggins. Huggins will announce his college decision today at 5:00 p.m. Top Stories
