Early Irish: Aaron Lynch

Our signing day coverage begins with a profile of five-star defensive end and January enrollee, Aaron Lynch.

Aaron Lynch (DE – 6'6/255): Widely recognized as the gem of the 2011 class and already on campus as one of five Early Enrollees for the spring semester…Has a chance to compete for two-deep spot heading into August camp – a leg up on his fellow DE classmates…A plausible permanent (unlikely, in my opinion) move of senior Hafis Williams to NG would place Lynch squarely behind the starting duo of Ethan Johnson and Kapron Lewis-Moore, and alongside sophomore Kona Schwenke, as a No. 2 DE entering the spring…A dominant force in his high school highlight reels that should be able to develop and earn time in a strong DE rotation this fall.
Kelly's recruiting profile: Power player
Returning defensive ends: Bruce Heggie, Ethan Johnson, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Kona Schwenke, Hafis Williams (also NG)

Baumhower on Lynch: Without him, the group of defensive linemen is good. With Lynch in the class, the defensive line haul is likely the best in 20 years.

Berk on Lynch: Will never forget the recruiting battle that ensued between Florida State and Notre Dame for Lynch. Has all the talent in the world and many expect it to show early. Cannot wait to see how he develops in the spring.
