All Irish: Jarrett Grace

Four-star linebacker to compete with a host of returning, but unproven Irish backups inside.

Jarrett Grace (ILB – 6'4/230): Enters a position with depth in numbers but not yet proven commodities behind the starting duo of Te'o and Calabrese…Will have a dogfight on his hands for three-deep playing time in Year One but ranks as an ideal height/weight prospect for Bob Diaco's defense inside after a full season in the Paul Longo strength program…The only ILB recruit among the 22 members of the 2011 class…One of five four-star recruits among the class as designated by, joining DB prospect Eilar Hardy with that ranking on the defensive side of scrimmage.

Kelly recruiting profile: Big Skill
Returning inside linebackers: Carlo Calabrese, Dan Fox (also OLB), Anthony McDonald, Kendall Moore, David Posluszny, Danny Spond (also OLB), Manti Te'o

Baumhower on Grace: He has kind of flown under the radar with Notre Dame fans, but don't be surprised if he's the next top linebacker this staff produces.

Berk on Grace: Another Cincinnati-area player Brian Kelly and his assistants that joined him at Notre Dame had a chance to watch grow over the years. Grace comes from Colerain High School and Kelly has had a few players from the Cardinals do some great things for him on the field. Grace should be no different as he brings great physical size and athletic ability.
