As Brian Kelly was putting on the finishing touches to his highly regarded Class of 2011, his staff wasted little time in getting started on the Class of 2012. As expected, quarterback got the attention of the Irish staff on Wednesday.
As Brian Kelly has stated many times, the need to take one quarterback each class is to be expected. Having already issued a verbal offer to Kenton (Ohio) quarterback Maty Mauk
, the Irish wasted little time putting the ball in the Ohio gunslingers court with an offer to another quarterback.
Gunner Kiel also has caught the eye of Kelly and Irish quarterback coach Charley Molnar over the past year. On Wednesday, Kiel added Notre Dame to his ever growing offer list of schools from across the country.
Calls to Kiel about the offer went unanswered Wednesday and a message was left to speak with the Columbus (IN) East signal caller in the future.
Irish Eyes will have more on the newest offer issued by the Irish.
