Sights of Spring II

Here are some of the pictures I promised. National Geographic won't be calling me anytime soon. I had the picture pixels set too large so when I had to downsize, I lost some sharpness. Anyway, I hope you like them.

Carlyle Holiday hands off to a back.

Holiday has looked sharp in all his mechanics this spring. Irish Eyes hears that Holiday has really improved in getting the ball off quickly.

Chris Olsen works out at practice.

Olsen also appears to have improved and is throwing the ball well. Olen's arm is impressive so far in spring.

Mike Goolsby watches from the sidelines

Goolsby has set out spring recovering from shoulder surgery. The Irish staff hopes to have Goolsby back for fall camp. Goolsby's abscence has forced the Irish to shuffle some linebacker spots.

Rashon Powers-Neal, the fullback

Rashon Powers-Neal has moved to fullback for the spring but will likely get some action at tailback with injuries to Ryan Grant and Marcus Wilson. Powers-Neal is expected to be a full-time fullback in the fall.

Vontez Duff ready for final season

Duff had an outstanding year last year but hopes to have an even better year in 2003. Duff should give the Irish one solid corner in the secondary while they look for the other. I wonder if Duff still wants to play some tailback? Top Stories
