Five Answers – Signing Day Look Back

We poised Five Questions prior to National Signing Day. With the dust settled, we offer the answers for each.

Sorry about the delay in getting this posted, but I wanted to step back and look at the Five Questions we posted about Notre Dame and the Class of 2011.

Who will Notre Dame fans be surprised with between now and signing day?

Answer: The commitment of Troy Niklas on signing day gave Irish fans a great feeling.  With talk of the California native going back and forth between Notre Dame and USC, many had the talented Niklas staying on the West Coast.

Does Notre Dame get the verbal pledge of running back Savon Huggins?

Answer: No, the New Jersey native signed with home state program Rutgers.

Will Notre Dame suffer any casualties on signing day?

Answer: No!  The Irish held onto the players they expected to sign and closed it strong with the addition of Troy Niklas.

When all is said and done, who was the Notre Dame Coach that made the biggest impact on the Class of 2011?

Answer: This really is a hard question to answer.  When you break things down, you have the early morning visit of Bob Diaco with Ishaq Williams that will go down in Notre Dame recruiting lore.  You also have the great job done by Tony Alford with Aaron Lynch.  However, after looking at his hard, Mike Elston looks to have played a huge role in the class and gets the vote.  As said, this was very hard because all of the Notre Dame Coaches have to work harder than most programs across the country.

Who will be the first member of the Class of 2012 to jump on-board with Brian Kelly and the Irish?

Answer: It has not been without effort in this area; however, no one has grabbed the first slot for the Class of 2012.  Do not be surprised if that does not change in the next couple of weeks with a Junior Day straight ahead. Top Stories
