Several of Notre Dame's biggest recruiting targets were forced to cancel their plans to attend the junior day because of weather, but the Irish will still have several top prospects on hand.
Four four-star prospects will be in attendance; Shane Callahan (Chaparral High School, Colo.), Greg McMullen (Archbishop Hoban High School, Ohio), J. J. Denman (Pennsbury High School West, Pa.) and Dan Voltz (Barrington High School, Ill.) All four linemen have scholarship offers from Notre Dame.
Another four prospects that have scholarship offers from Brian Kelly and his staff that will be at Notre Dame today are defensive end LaTroy Lewis (Archbishop Hoban High School, Ohio), offensive lineman Michael Moore (DeMatha Catholic High School, Mary.), defensive end Tom Strobel (Mentor High School, Ohio) and safety Jarrod Wilson (John R. Buchtel High School, Ohio).
Wide receiver prospect Malachi Jones (Central Gwinnett High School, Ga.) is the son of former Notre Dame linebacker Andre Jones and the brother of current Notre Dame wide receiver T.J. Jones.
Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pa. wins the award for having the most prospects at the junior day with five. Nate Smith, Brandon Arcidiacono, Desmon Peoples, Frank Taylor, and Colin Thompson flew into Chicago yesterday in order to make it to today's events.
Gehrig Dieter and David Perkins didn't have to arrange travel plans through an airline like the five players from Archbishop Wood. Both prospects play across town at Washington High School.
