Notre Dame would be great

Ohio wide receiver Roger Lewis knows a lot about Notre Dame from his good friend Eilar Hardy. Now, he is hoping to turn some heads and earn more interest from the Irish.

Last Sunday was a coming out party for Pickerington (Ohio) Central wide receiver Roger Lewis. Overshadowed by several top prospects the past year, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Lewis, showed he has the skills needed to be considered a prospect to watch in the Class of 2012. Now he is hoping Notre Dame will show more interest.

"I know Notre Dame Coaches have spoken with my coaches," Lewis told Irish Eyes. "I have a lot of interest in Notre Dame with Eilar Hardy headed there. Eilar is one of my best friends and to have a chance to continue playing with him in college would be great."

With great physical size, Lewis knows there are still areas of his game needing work.

"Right now I feel my strength is catching the deep ball. However, I know there is work needed on my short route running. I ran a 4.5 forty at the RAW Talent combine last week and plan to attend several camps this summer to show coaches what I can do."

With no offers on the table, Lewis is starting to hear from several programs after the past week.

"Nebraska, Cincinnati, and others are all in contact about me coming to Junior Days or camps this summer. I have not made any solid plans yet on where I will go."

Irish Eyes will stay in contact with Roger to see if the Irish show more interest in the coming weeks and months. Top Stories
