Odenigbo Talks ND Junior Day

Ifeadi Odenigbo hasn't had the early hype that a number of recruits have seen in the 2012 recruiting class, but it's starting to build. The standout athlete from Centerville High School (Ohio) has several big-time scholarship offers with more likely on the way.

Ifeadi Odenigbo already has 18 scholarship offers coming from the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Northwestern, Illinois, Cincinnati, Toledo, North Carolina and Duke. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound athlete made a trip to Notre Dame this weekend and added to his offer list.

"Notre Dame offered," Odenigbo. "It was my first trip to Notre Dame. It went well. I was very surprised about everything. I knew that Notre Dame had tradition, but it seemed like things hadn't been changed since it was built.

"What's good about Notre Dame is that it's an excellent academic school and I come from a Catholic background and it's a Catholic school."

Odenigbo really didn't anticipate all of the recruiting attention that he's received, but now that it has come, he's just hoping that he doesn't become overwhelmed.

"I'm fortunate to be in this situation where I'm starting to be recruited pretty hard," Odenigbo explained. "When I got my first offer, I was so pumped and so happy that God had put me in this situation.

"Then more schools started coming and more schools started coming, so I gave up on thinking about things. Hopefully things die down and I'll have more time to think about which schools I like."
