Thompson is in the Mix

Colin Thompson has an impressive list of scholarship offers and he was hoping to add the Irish to the list this weekend. Unfortunately for the tight end from Archbishop Wood High School (Warminster, Pa.) an offer from the Notre Dame staff did not materialize.

Colin Thompson from Archbishop Wood High School (Warminster, Pa.) was one of five prospects from Archbishop Wood to make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this past weekend. Thompson did enjoy his visit, but he was hoping for a batter result.

"It went well," Thompson said. "I enjoyed it. I didn't get an offer, but I met the coaches. I talked to them and they said that I'm on their board. I'm in their top three (tight ends), so that was interesting.

"We had a tight end meeting that lasted for about 30 minutes. Coach Denbrock talked about their offense and how they moved the tight end around the field.

"I talked to coach Molnar, the offensive coordinator, about where I'm at. He knows about all of my offers. He said that they're going to sit down and evaluate the tight ends and go from there. That was really the only individual time that I got though.

Thompson has an impressive offer list that includes North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Rutgers, Pitt, Boston College.

"I really don't have a top list of schools right now, but I'm going through all of it and I'll probably make my decision sometime before football season," Thompson explained. ""Notre Dame has been a school that I've watched since I was little boy, watching their tight ends play. Anthony Fasano, John Carlson and Kyle Rudolph are my guys.

"Notre Dame has always been one of my favorite schools, and right now I'd like to have an offer but it is what it is. They're the coaches and they're the ones that make the decisions. I'm just going to wait and see if they offer. If they don't offer, then it's time to move on." Top Stories
