Denman Has Four on Top

Notre Dame already has one offensive tackle in the 2012 recruiting class, but they certainly plan on taking another. J.J. Denman from Pennsbury West High School (Fairless Hills, Pa.) is one of their top recruiting targets, and he has the Irish among his leaders.

Notre Dame just signed a solid offensive line class, and they are already hard at work putting together the 2012 recruiting class. The Irish held their first junior day over a week ago, and one of the top prospects on hand was J.J. Denman (6-foot-6, 310-pounds).

"The junior day was my second time over there," Denman explained. "Last season I was there for the Utah game. I just wanted to get over there and learn about the school. This time it was a pretty in-depth visit all around. It was a pretty good time though."

Heading into the visit Notre Dame had some ground to make up with some of Denman's other top schools. After receiving his scholarship offer the Irish jump into his top group of schools.

"It's up there," Denman said about Notre Dame. "They made a big jump. It was the first time I really felt like it was a place that I could be. I really can't describe it. The locker rooms the stadium, the layout of the campus…it was really just the comfort level.

"We were at the basketball game, and there were a lot of players there. When I was talking to coach Molnar, a couple of the offensive linemen came over and talked to us."

Along with the Notre Dame, Denman has Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State in his top group of schools. He'd like to make a commitment before the start of his senior season, so he's planning on getting out and taking additional unofficial visits.

"I'm going to take some visits over the summer, but I want to talk one back to Notre Dame," he said. "I'm not sure when, but it'll be at some point over the spring for one of their practices.

"I think I'm going to check the others out during the spring the spring and the summer." Top Stories
