Bush Staying in Touch with Irish

Deon Bush is one of the top athletes in the state of Florida this year, which means that he's one of the top athletes in the nation. The defensive back prospect from Christopher Columbus High School (Miami, Fla.) has 21 scholarship offers and is hoping to get out to see as many of those schools as he can.

Notre Dame is one of the schools that have extended an offer to Deon Bush (6-foot-1, 180-pounds). He hasn't had a chance to get on campus yet, but he is staying in contact with the Irish coaching staff.

"I talk to coach Alford about once a week," Bush said. "We basically talk about normal stuff, how school is going and how he wants me to Notre Dame. I'm basically just starting to find out stuff about Notre Dame."

The Irish signed Bush's teammate Anthony Rabasa with their 2011 recruiting class, but the two haven't discussed the Irish very often. That doesn't mean Bush doesn't have interest in Notre Dame.

"It's all even right now, but Notre Dame is still around because they have a good tradition, and a great program," he said. "It's not every day that a school like Notre Dame comes knocking on your door.

"They're recruiting me as either a cornerback or safety. It really doesn't matter to me. Most schools are recruiting me to play corner though."

Bush will take his time to make his decision. In fact he's really hasn't had a chance to get out and see a lot of the schools that he's interested in attending.

"I've only seen Florida and Miami," he said. "But I'm going to see as many schools as possible before I make my decision."
