"Coach (Jeff) Rotsky told me that Coach Warinner had called him and that Notre Dame wanted to offer me."
"I went to a camp at Notre Dame about two summers ago before the current coaching staff. Notre Dame is as big as any of the offers I have."
As for a visit to South Bend, Kyle's not sure when one could happen, but he wants to visit.
"I want to try and get up there if one of my coaches can take me up there."
As for his knowledge on the Irish, it is limited to what he has seen and heard in the media.
"I know Notre Dame has a lot of tradition and they win a lot of football games. You hear so much about them on television and to be offered is overwhelming."
One part of the recruitment of Dotson ties him to another recruit and a former player of Brian Kelly's.
"I spoke with Coach Warinner and he said he could see me playing either tackles spots. He asked me what side I would prefer to play and I told him it did not matter. I know Notre Dame learned I was a good worker from them talking with Coach (Ben) Mauk. Coach Warinner said he is planning on making a visit to school the week after their spring game."
As for a favorite, Kyle stresses it is too early and he has not done enough homework.
"I have not really come up with a Top Five. I want to evaluate more of the schools before I do any of that."
Irish Eyes will continue to follow the recruitment of Kyle Dodson in the coming weeks.
