"I just did actually," was the response from Stanley regarding his newest scholarship offer. "I called Coach Denbrock because they had asked for me to call them tonight. He was talking about the school and the coaching staff and then he said they would like to offer me a scholarship."
For Stanley the news came as a surprise.
"This was the first time I had talked with a coach from Notre Dame on the phone. It has made me feel more humble about everything I am getting. I am real happy to get an offer from Notre Dame, a school with so much prestige."
While excited about the offer, do not look for Ronnie to rush in making his college choice.
"Right now I feel I am going to go through the whole recruiting process and take my time in making my decision. I am not in any hurry right now."
The first thing Ronnie would like to do with the Irish is make a visit to campus.
"I have never visited Notre Dame, but I will be trying to visit there. Right now I am not sure on a time yet."
The recruiting process has been good so far for Stanley as he got off to an early start.
"The process has treated me well so far. I got my first offer my sophomore year from Utah and it just jumped started from there."
As for what he knows about Notre Dame and the coaching staff, Stanley knows he has some things to learn.
"I do not know much about the coaches but plan on learning more about them. I am going to look at the coaches' experience, coaches' tradition and schools tradition. I also want to see the relationship between the players and coaches and get a feel for the academics offered and the all around feel of the school."
As for his game, Ronnie Stanley has the tools the Irish coaching staff looks for in offensive linemen.
"I feel my quickness and athleticism is my strength while I need to work on my overall physical strength."
Irish Eyes will be checking back with Ronnie Stanley about any future visit to campus and his interest in the Irish.
