McNeil talks about Irish

LaDarrell McNeil speaks with Irish Eyes about his interest in Notre Dame and the interest the Irish are showing him.

When asked about Notre Dame, Dallas (TX) A Maceo Smith High School safety LaDarrell McNeil seemed surprised. While the 6-foot-1, 190-pound hard hitting safety says he has a scholarship offer from the Irish, he also stressed he has not spoken with Notre Dame since the first of the year.

"I have not talked with Notre Dame in a while. The head coach came to school around the first of the year and I was told I had an offer. They said they want me to come up for a visit, but the last time I spoke with them was in January."

While he was unable to name all the programs who have offered, McNeil spoke as if he was wide open when it came to having a favorite.

"My options are open right now but I do have interest in Notre Dame. It is not about how far away I go or how close I stay. It is about where I feel comfortable at more."

When asked to describe his game, McNeil knows what he loves to do on the field and what he needs to work on.

"I'm a hitter. I like to hit a lot but I need to be able to catch the ball better."

Irish Eyes will continue to check back with LaDarrell to see if the Irish coaches return and make contact with the talented safety. Top Stories
