Irish Check In On Herron

With spring practice officially over for Notre Dame, coaches have hit the recruiting trail in search of those players who will be offered scholarships to fill out the Class of 2012. One player who received an Irish visit was DeAndre Herron. Irish Eyes checked in with Herron to get the latest.

The last time Irish Eyes checked in with Avon (IN) offensive lineman DeAndre Herron he had returned from an unofficial visit to Notre Dame to catch a spring practice. This week Herron found the Irish returning the favor with a visit to his high school.

"Coach Elston came to speak with my coach and check in on me. We did not get a chance to talk but he ask my coach how my grades were coming along. Right now they are coming along pretty good."

With his biggest offer to date being from Louisville, Herron knows he may not be in the Irish plans for the Class of 2012. Nevertheless, Herron also knows his stock continues to rise as his film and performances at several combines continue to reach college coaches.

"Right now nothing has changed and all I can do is keep working hard. Notre Dame said they are going to keep recruiting me and they would like for me to attend camp. Right now I am not sure if I will camp at Notre Dame this summer."

Impressed by his visit to campus in March, Herron would be honored to earn an Irish offer.

Irish Eyes will continue to check back with DeAndre in the future.
