Williams may not have seen the fanfare of Lynch when the day was over; nevertheless, when you look at his overall performance you must come away just as impressed from the New York native.
On the day Williams posted 5 total tackles including 1 for a loss and forced fumble.
While Williams may not have looked to stick his nose into the pile like Lynch, he did show the athletic ability to so sideline-to-sideline using his great burst.
On several plays Williams showed his advanced knowledge of the game using small techniques to gain advantages over offensive linemen. This ability in the future will allow him to be looked upon as a player who should contribute early in his college career.
Keep in mind, the Irish defense was vanilla for the spring game and saw Lynch come up on most plays along the line more as a defensive end. When the season starts and Irish coaches let him loose his true skill set will be seen.
While Lynch may have been the star of the day, Williams is well on his way to be another top performer for the Irish defense in the years to come.
