"Coach Elston stopped by my school last Monday. He has told me Notre Dame is looking to take four offensive linemen in this class and that I am in the mix. He wanted me to come to camp this summer but I told him I have no plans of going to any camps this summer. So they are going to have the o-line coach come down and watch me work out and do some lateral movements and such and then decide on my offer."
While he has the size to play along the offensive line this past season was Jake's first to play on that side of the ball.
"Last year was my first year on the offensive line as I played defense my sophomore year. I play basketball so I have quick feet and a quick first step. I like controlling the game being on the offensive side of the ball and pummeling guys to the ground is a lot of fun."
Other programs have expressed plans of making visits to the Indiana lineman and one has Jake excited about their upcoming visit.
"Wisconsin is coming in on Wednesday to watch me workout and they want their offensive line coach to see me move and I hope they will offer. They are a real cool school because they are a great school for offensive linemen."
One thing Jake knows about Notre Dame is their approach on and off the field. With his older brother Mitch Meador having been recruited by several on the Irish coaching staff at their previous stop. Jake has found a comfort level with his main recruiter Mike Elston.
"Coach Elston was my brother's defensive line coach at Cincinnati so I got to know him and the staff really well when they were with Mitch at Cincinnati. There is a comfort level because I know where they are coming from."
