Harrell hopes to trim list

With spring evaluations in full swing across the country, high school prospects are starting to look to trim their list of offers. One who hopes to follow that trend is offensive lineman Mark Harrell.

The offer list for Mark Harrell continues to find college programs from across the country showing high interest in the 6-foot-5, 207-pound offensive lineman from Charlotte (NC) Catholic High School. Notre Dame along with National Champion Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia to name a few, have all see Harrell make spring visits. Now the tables are turned as colleges hit the recruiting trail making evaluation visits.

Has Notre Dame made a stop?

"Notre Dame was in town last week," Harrell told Irish Eyes. "However, we were on spring break and the school was closed so they could not stop and visit me. They are going to try and comeback in the next week or two."

What Irish coaches will find is a player who is working hard to continue his physical skills with training and competing in track throwing the shot and discus.

With his offer list continuing to grow, Harrell feels the time will come soon for him to start to trim some schools from the list.

"Right now I'm going to wait and see what happens with any other offers this spring. After that I hope to be able to trim down some of the schools on my list. I will still keep an open mind if other schools come and offer, but I would like to trim it down to a more manageable number."

Where does Notre Dame fit on his list right now?

"Notre Dame is a school I have high interest in and I feel they will be on my list if I make any cuts."

Harrell is on schedule to graduate next May and is currently taking honor classes at the very challenging Roman Catholic high school.

Irish Eyes will continue to follow the recruitment of Harrell in the coming weeks and months.
