Where Does Notre Dame Stand with Odenigbo?

Centerville (Ohio) High four-star linebacker Ifeadi Odenigbo is finalizing summer visit plans, and at one time Notre Dame looked like a no-brainer visit. Is that still the case? Odenigo spoke to IrishEyes.com today to give an update on whether schools have pulled ahead of the Irish. Come inside to check out what he said.

Centerville (Ohio) High four-star linebacker Ifeadi Odenigbo is still working a summer visit schedule, and while he remains hopeful of visiting Notre Dame, it may not happen.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Odenigbo told IrishEyes.com this afternoon he continues to look at the option, but other schools have moved to the forefront.

"I'm looking at some schools a little harder than Notre Dame," he said. "It's just a personal preference."

Odenigbo, who is Scout.com's third-ranked outside linebacker in the 2012 class, made a visit to Northwestern last week and is setting up visits to California, Stanford, Michigan, Michigan State and Illinois.

But, is Notre Dame also in line for a visit?

"I plan on visiting them later in the month, but we'll see how it works out," he said. "They're still in the mix."

Odenigbo was then asked if he was heavily involved with the Irish, or whether that interest was fading.

"I don't know yet," he said. "It depends on some things, but they're still pretty high on my list."

Odenigbo has more than 30 scholarship offers and is coming off a junior season in which he made 40 tackles and registered 10 sacks.
