Muller Beginning Midwest Trip at Notre Dame

Boyertown (Pa.) Area High offensive tackle Chris Muller will be on Notre Dame's campus Thursday for an unofficial visit, which is expected the extension of an offer for the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder. He spoke to IrishEyes.com about the upcoming visit, and also outlined his visit schedule for the rest of the summer.

Boyertown (Pa.) Area High offensive tackle Chris Muller doesn't have a Notre Dame offer, but that should change by lunchtime.

The three-star offensive tackle will be in South Bend, Ind., today, with a late morning arrival set as he visits Notre Dame's campus. He was told last month by the Irish staff that when he gets to campus, he will receive an offer from the Irish, and he is excited about the trip.

"It's a school that everyone talks highly about, so I want to see how it is," he said. "I'm looking for a good academic program, a good weight room, a good weight coach. I'm looking for good training facilities."

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Muller is in the beginning throes of a busy summer schedule, which began this week when he spent two days on the Penn State campus.

"Penn State is my leader as of right now," said Muller, re-iterating what he told Scout.com two weeks ago. "I just went to Penn State. I was there Monday and Tuesday. I'm also going to go visit Florida, South Carolina and maybe Auburn."

But before making the Southeastern Conference swing, Muller will be hitting three programs in the Midwest, beginning with the visit to Notre Dame's campus.

"I'm going to Notre Dame, Michigan and Michigan State," Muller said. "This will help me out a lot. These are some of the top schools that I have to go see. I have to actually go see what they're all about."

Although Muller has Penn State as his leader and will recently told Scout.com Rutgers and South Carolina finished off his top three, he has elected to back off talking about where the non-leaders rank in his mind.

"I'm not really ranking any schools," he said. "It's just who I saw last. I don't know if I'm actually going to Auburn, but I know I'm going to Florida and South Carolina."

Muller doesn not have dates set for those visits.

But with well over a dozen offers, Muller is getting plenty of attention via phone calls, emails and Facebook messages from a number of schools, and he could be looking at a decision by the start of his senior season.

"It's getting pretty tiring," he said, "but it's a good position to be in."
