Holtz Has Great Day with Irish

With his phone ringing off the hook, Pennsylvania prospect J.P. Holtz caught up with Irish Eyes about his day at Notre Dame.

After a day of working out for Notre Dame coaches. Pittsburgh (PA) Shaler Area High School product J.P. Holtz was looking to relax as he headed off to another campus visit tomorrow. However, Holtz soon learned when the Irish are a possible scholarship offer; your phone does not stop ringing.

How did his day on campus go?

"It was like a one-day camp at least that is what they called it. So it was not like a recruiting visit as I workout for them and then toured the campus a little bit. I then talked with the coaches and left feeling like it was a great day."

While J.P. didn't leave with an offer, he has strong feelings about his future with the Irish.

"I think they are going to come with an offer. I'm not sure as to when they will as they said they are going to have a staff meeting soon and then would be in contact me."

What would an offer from the Irish mean to Holtz?

"It would be a big-time offer and I would definitely consider going there. I do want to go up there again if I do get an offer."

Are the Irish looking at him as a defensive end or a tight end?

"They had me workout for the defense and offense today so they are not really sure. I have no preference as to what position I play in college."

Right now Holtz says he's holding between 13-14 scholarship offers and is in no hurry to make a decision.
