Ageyman Enjoys Visit to Notre Dame

Lake Park high school in Roselle, IL is home to Kawme Ageyman. The 6-0 195-pound safety prospect has two offers and one on the way. He recently visited an Irish spring practice and came away very impressed with Notre Dame and coach Tyrone Willingha.

Kwame Ageyman had a great junior season recording 90 tackles, 4 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries and 12 pass break ups. He also blocked a punt. Colleges have been taking notice. "I have offers from Indiana and Northwestern right now. Oregon has said they will offer very soon," said Ageyman.

The hard-hitting safety has other names on his dance card. "Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Penn State, Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri have been writing the most. All of them want me to come to camp but I'm not sure which camps I will attend."

Ageyman did find time to attend the Illinois spring game and recently visited Notre Dame for a spring practice. "It was awesome. It's a great school, the coaches are great and Coach Willingham is an extremely smart man. It's the best of every world there. You get great football, a great education and great connections after college. They have been sending a lot of hand-written letters and he (Willingham) said he doesn't like to offer kids early because he wants to make sure they are the right type of kids for his program. He said I will most likely fit that category."

Academics, check! "I have a 4.0 GPA. I took the ACT last week. I took an ACT class and we took the test there and I scored a 25 but I want at least a 27.

What will be important to Ageyman when he chooses a school? "I just want to fit in. The education will be important and I think a school that shows interest early is important. The coaches, the players and the community will be important to me as well."

Ageyman grew up cheering for Florida State but his Mom has a favorite at this point. "I cheered for Florida State. My Mom loves Coach Willingham. She really wants me to go there but she said it will be my decision. She loves Notre Dame."

Ageyman says he has no idea when he might decide. He said he plans to take all of his visits but if something feels right, he will likely just commit.

Commenst. Ageyman reminds me of Glenn Earl. They are very similar in personality and very well spoken and intelligent. This is the type of kid who can never hurt you and has that desire and work ethic to be a great player. I have no idea if Notre Dame will offer but I think they will be tough to beat if they do offer.
