The 6-foot-2, 178-pound Brown said his contact with the Irish is sporadic, but his interest remains.
"Most of (the contact) is through the mail," Brown said. "I don't really talk to them much." Brown was told in May he would be given a verbal offer by the Irish in late May, and he is operating under the guise of having one.
In most instances he would write a school off if the contact is limited but that is not the case in this matter.
"It's Notre Dame, so of course I keep them in discussions," Brown said. "I'll wait. Most of the time I'll wait (for schools). But I am looking elsewhere (for now)."
"Those are top three schools I've been thinking about," Brown said. "That's not my definite three. I still plan on taking my officials. I know I'm going to take one to LSU."
There is a reason Brown is waiting for his official visits before making a decision.
"I want to see how it is to have a day in a player's life and how coaching staff reacts to them," Brown said. "I like game atmosphere. I usually do my best when the crowd is big and making a lot of noise."
Another factor in Brown's decision is academics, and he will be able to see how his potential major mixes at the school.
"I think I'm going to try to major in a field of sports medicine, or kinesiology and dealing with injuries," Brown said. "I'm going to be looking for places that have my major, but people told me there will be a lot of branches of it depending on what school you go to, so I am thinking about that."
