The result was a Stadium evacuation and – at present and counting – more than a 2-hour weather delay.
According to Notre Dame Sports Information, Saturday's weather delay was the first – at home or on the road – in the history of the program. Among the agreed upon terms of the delay: food would be brought in for both teams and neither would view any game film during the hiatus.
An FBS college football game must complete three quarters to be considered an official final.
South Florida led the Irish at the time of the delay, 16-0 at intermission.
