Recruit Wrap: ND Commits and Prospects

Each week during the high school season will provide a recap of how Notre Dame commits and recruiting targets fared during the weekend.

Welcome to the "Recruit Wrap," an feature that appears Monday during the high school season.

It will be a mix of players already committed to Notre Dame as well as updates on players who are being recruited by the Irish. It is designed to give readers a potpourri of information on how recruits are faring on a weekly basis.

Committed to Notre Dame
Aquinas Institute (Rochester, N.Y.) defensive tackle Jarron Jones had four tackles, including a sack, in a 40-20 season-opening win against St. Joseph's Collegiate.

Washington Union (Fresno, Calif.) receiver Deontay Greenberry had 12 catches for 228 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-0 win against Alisal. Washington Union safety Tee Shepard did not play after being declared ineligible by the CIF after transferring from another school. His case has been appealed. Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic tight end Mark Harrell was a key member in a 21-7 win against Charlotte Country Day to improve to 3-0. Butler (Vandalia, Ohio) offensive tackle Taylor Decker made a trip to Notre Dame for the USF game, but first was a key member of the offensive line in a 28-0 win against Tecumseh. Warren Central (Indianapolis) defensive tackle Sheldon Day had three tackles in a 55-7 win against Lawrence North.

Klein Oak (Spring, Texas) quarterback Nick Baratti completed 3 of 11 passes for 17 yards and rushed six times for 27 yards before leaving with an injury (concussion) in a 21-17 loss to Cypress Creek. Washington (South Bend, Ind.) running back David Perkins rushed 15 times for 128 yards and added an interception in a 63-10 win against Elkhart. Potomac High (Oxon Hill) cornerback Ronald Darby did not play (groin) in a 14-12 loss to Gwynn Park.

Millbrook (Raleigh, N.C.) running back Keith Marshall rushed for 155 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown, in a 26-9 win against East Wake. Franklin High (Reisterstown, Md.) receiver Ian Thomas had 81 yards on 8 catches in a 30-7 loss to Wise High.

The Gilman School (Baltimore) four-star athlete Cyrus Jones rushed for 194 yards, had three reception and totaled four touchdowns in a 51-27 win against Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) Grant (Sacramento) safety/quarterback Shaquille Thompson rushed six times for 16 yards in a 24-23 loss to Long Beach Poly. Berkeley Prep (Tampa) athlete Nelson Agholor rushed eight times for 55 yards and a TD, and made three tackles and intercepted a pass in a 45-0 win against Trinity. Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.) athlete Davonte Neal rushed 16 times for 84 yards and a TD and caught two passes for 45 yards in a 24-6 win against Marcos de Niza. Fitch (Youngstown, Ohio) running back William Mahone rushed 17 times for 147 yards in a 21-3 win against Poland Seminary. Centreville (Clifton, Va.) defensive end Ken Ekanem had two catches for 42 yards while playing tight end in a 23-8 win against Lake Braddock. Top Stories
